Making Poetry, founded by Jacqui Rowe in 2008, returns for a new season beginning in April 2010.
After last year's tremendously popular sessions, Mario Petrucci and Philip Gross return to lead masterclasses. The rest of the programme includes new topics including ekphrastic poetry and working with objects, as well as the return of some sessions you might have missed, including preparing work for publication.
Writers at all levels of experience are welcome at the workshops and masterclasses.
PLACES ARE STILL AVAILABLE ON ALL WORKSHOPS AND MASTERCLASSES. FOR BOOKING INFORMATION, PLEASE SEE THE BOOKING PAGE.
Making Poetry is grateful to Arts Council England for its support.
Creative Writing in South Africa, One Nation of Many Parts, with Jacqui Rowe and African Space Africa is characterised by story telling. South Africa is also a land of great beauty where travellers are welcomed with genuine warmth and the hospitality is unsurpassed; a country that chose to begin to face the trauma of apartheid through the telling of truths. There can be few better places to join a creative writing holiday. In partnership with Jacqui Rowe, we are proud to offer the opportunity to experience South Africa on a creative writing trip that we are confident is like no other. Twelve days in September will take you from Cape Town to Durban, up into Zululand, on into Maputaland on the border with Mozambique and down into ‘The Battlefields’ of KwaZulu Natal. Led by an African Space guide, with regular workshops facilitated by Jacqui Rowe and with readings by local, South African, writers this is an opportunity to get a glimpse of the soul of this mighty country and develop your creative writing skills. An intoxicating mix. Price is £2,535 per person on a single basis. Get in touch with Mark Gillies on markg@africanspace.co.uk to find out more.
